HISTORY

Built on Relationships from the Very Beginning

In 2005, Gary Caldwell founded Caldwell Constructors, Inc. After 29 years of extensive experience in the construction industry, spanning commercial, institutional, ecumenical, and industrial markets, along with his expertise in managing estimates and operations, Gary trusted he had the foundation to begin a new company within the vibrant community of Greenville, South Carolina.

In those early days, the firm relied heavily on relationships and gained a substantial client base through strong recommendations from key community members. The company strategy focused on gradual and intentional growth, emphasizing the selection of projects that could be managed effectively. The results? Consistent, exceptional outcomes for clients. Then as now, the support of subcontractors, vendors, and above all our employees, has been pivotal to our success. Gary Caldwell

Founder

With over four decades of experience in the commercial construction industry in the Upstate, Gary has been a driving force since founding Caldwell Constructors in 2005. His dedication to simplifying complex builds, coupled with unwavering integrity, is underscored by a rich history of community involvement with organizations such as Habitat for Humanity, Cancer Society of Greenville County, Leukemia and Lymphoma Society, Poinsett Club, Chamber of Commerce, and Leadership Greenville. Gary’s passion and innovative approach make him a valuable asset to the Upstate’s construction landscape. Working alongside his son David, daughter Amanda, and nephew Brett, he continues to contribute to the industry’s success. Beyond work, Gary enjoys quality time with his wife, Leigh, and their grandchildren.

David Caldwell

President

With over 21 years of industry expertise, David is a valuable contributor to Caldwell Constructors, proudly continuing his father’s legacy. His commitment to delivering high-quality service aligns with his passion for supporting local businesses in meeting their commercial construction requirements. David holds a degree from Clemson University’s Construction Science and Management program and resides in Greenville with his wife, Allison, and three young daughters.

Brett Caldwell

VP, Preconstruction

With nearly 23 years of comprehensive construction experience, Brett has significantly contributed to the success of Caldwell Constructors alongside his family. A Clemson graduate, Brett embarked on his construction career with involvement in intricate nine-figure commercial projects along the Eastern seaboard. Joining Caldwell Constructors in 2005, he has ascended to a shareholder role and earned recognition as a LEED Accredited Professional. Brett, his wife Rachell, and their two sons, call Greenville home. Outside of his professional endeavors, he stays active playing tennis and hiking the mountainous terrain in the Upstate.

Kyle Snipes

VP, Strategic Development

Leveraging over a decade of valuable industry experience, Kyle spearheads the company’s strategic vision and fosters essential relationships. Kyle’s influence is far-reaching, spanning various markets including institutional, municipal, office, retail, industrial, environmental systems, and healthcare construction. His multifaceted expertise contributes significantly to the company’s comprehensive growth and development. Beyond his professional endeavors, Kyle finds joy in dedicating quality time to his wife, Amanda, and their four children.

Amanda O'Sullivan

VP, Finance

Drawing 17 years of experience, Amanda plays a pivotal role at Caldwell Constructors as a shareholder, proudly contributing her expertise to the family business alongside her father, brother, and cousin. A Clemson graduate, her leadership includes overseeing the accounting department, directing financial operations, corporate budgeting, and human resources management. Beyond her professional responsibilities, Amanda finds joy in spending quality time with her husband, Ryan, and their two children.

Chris Norris

Senior Project Manager

Chris is a seasoned professional with more than 23 years of experience in commercial construction. Specializing in projects within the healthcare, senior living, historical restoration, and institutional markets, Chris brings a wealth of expertise to every project he manages. A graduate of Clemson University, Chris is committed to delivering excellence in every aspect of his work. Outside of work, Chris enjoys spending quality time with his wife, Lorian, cheering on Clemson football or hitting the golf course.

Evan Jones

Senior Project Manager

Beginning his construction career in 2005, Evan brings valuable project management experience to Caldwell Constructors. A Wofford College finance graduate, Evan seamlessly blends his financial acumen with his passion for construction. Outside of work, he spends his time with his wife Natalie and three sons. An avid sportsman, Evan enjoys everything from sport fishing to wing shooting, and he also finds fulfillment in coaching youth athletics.

Richard Heath

Senior Estimator

As Senior Estimator, Richard has nearly four decades of diverse experience in the construction industry. With a background spanning carpentry, project management, and business ownership, Richard brings a wealth of expertise to his role in estimating. Notably, he served as the National Director of the Professional Construction Estimators Association Upstate Chapter, further solidifying his commitment to excellence in his field. Beyond the office, Richard enjoys outdoor activities including hiking, trail biking, fly fishing, and embarking on scenic motorcycle tours through the mountains of the Upstate.
