Project Completion: The Jenny & Westervelt buildings at Judson Mill

Share

A project we are incredibly proud to be a part of has officially reached completion. The Lofts at Judson Mill — specifically The Jenny and Westervelt buildings — mark another milestone in the ongoing revitalization of the historic Judson Mill District at 701 Easley Bridge Road in Greenville, SC.

These two residential buildings carry deep roots in Greenville’s textile history:

  • The Jenny Building, often referred to as the “Twister Building,” once played a vital role in yarn production.
  • The Westervelt Building, opened in March 1912, originally served as a crucial piece of the cotton-to-thread manufacturing process at the front of Judson Mill.

Both structures were integral to the Mill Crescent — a collection of textile mills operating in western Greenville in the early 1900s — and today, their legacy lives on through thoughtful preservation and adaptive reuse.

This $60 million residential redevelopment honors the site’s industrial character while transforming it into a modern living experience. The building designs highlight original brickwork, expansive steel windows, and industrial architectural elements dating back to 1912. Loft units feature 25-foot ceilings, soaring windows, open-concept layouts, and direct access to an array of campus-wide amenities throughout Judson Mill.

We are honored to have contributed to a project that blends history, community, and high-quality construction — and equally proud to be featured in multiple articles announcing the project’s completion.
