History on a Plate: Cartwright Food Hall Reimagines Greer's Past with Artisanal Fare
Founded by friends passionate about food, family, and community, Cartwright Food Hall is an artisanal, lifestyle dining concept. The name “Cartwright” itself pays homage to the 1865 hardware store that originally occupied the address. The food hall is housed within a street-front building and a connected carriage house built in 1904, which was previously the site of a livery, stables, restaurant, hardware store, gallery, and museum. The remodel features 5,400 SF at 215 Trade Street with elevator access and upstairs event space, as well as 1,200 SF at the connected carriage house with outdoor seating in the backyard patio. The project scope included allĀ sitework, demolition of the interior, and renovations per SHPO standards for a historic structure. Cartwright Food Hall mixes history with culinary artistry in the heart of Greer, SC.
